Dear Clients and Friends,

We are pleased to start this year 2025 by presenting an important 19th century volume in golf’s early library, Reminiscences of Golf and Golfers, by Scotsman and Fife native H. Thomas Peter, published at Edinburgh in 1890.

Interestingly, as noted in Joseph S.F. Murdoch’s seminal The Library of Golf, 1743-1966, the total number of golf-centric books published from 1743 through 1890 totalled a mere 35 volumes; so, the Peter publication is a key foundation stone in golf’s library.

For this project we have received again the ever-special support from our friend and colleague, David Hamilton in St Andrews, whose commentary presents important research on Henry Thomas Peter himself and his work.  To whet one’s interest, above are the opening paragraphs of David’s comments.

Our press run is limited to 250 copies, each printed on acid-free paper, bound in cloth at 76 pages, and housed in a durable slipcase. Design and typography are by Hughes & Company with printing and binding by Henry Ling Limited, both family-owned and long-established experts resident in England.

Price is £29, plus handling, postage, and insured tracked shipping.

Shipping weight is 0.8 kilograms.

Best regards,
